GAINESVILLE - Plans are in the works for another fast-food restaurant in the busy Thompson Bridge Road/Enota Avenue area of north Gainesville.

Jamie Collins goes before the Gainesville Planning & Appeals Board June 14 with a request to rezone three lots just north of Lanier Avenue, adjacent to the SunTrust Bank, as the future site of a Taco Bell.

Within a few blocks of that location, there is already a Long John Silver's, Burger King and Pizza Hut.

In addition, Yonah Burger has been approved to open a restaurant in that area.

Collins' rezoning application states that the restaurant would be 2,413 square feet with a drive-up window. Two of the three lots now contain two rental houses and are zoned Residential-1 (R-1). The other is zoned Residential-1 (R-1), however, most of it is undeveloped and zoned Neighborhood Business (N-B).

The request calls for one driveway, located at the northern end of the property, with a limited right-in/right-out movement of traffic.

Also at the June 14 meeting, planners will be ask to consider a Special Use request that would allow a drive-thru coffee restaurant at 996 Thompson Bridge Road just south of the Oak Tree Drive intersection. One Eleven, LLC, wants to move the Little Yellow Coffee House from Lanier Plaza Shopping Center, further north on Thompson Bridge Road.
