ATHENS - A memorial service was held Saturday morning for Nique Leili of Lawrenceville, even as a battle continues over which family member has rights to the murdered woman's remains.

The 44-year-old Leili's body was found last Saturday under a pile of leaves near her Lawrenceville home. She had been missing for about a week when friends and family organized last week's search.

Leili's estranged husband Matthew Leili is a suspect in his wife's homicide, although he has not been charged. He filed for divorce two days after he reported his wife missing, according to published reports.

Both the Athens Banner Herald and the Gwinnett Daily Post say Leili's remains have not been released to family. A judge is to hold a hearing Tuesday to determine if the body can be released to Matthew Leili or to Nique Leili's 19-year-old daughter Alex.
