GAINESVILLE - A Gainesville woman, on probation for a forgery conviction last year, has been arrested for writing forged checks again.

Sgt. Stephen Wilbanks with the Hall County Sheriff's Office said Misty Lea McDonald, 24, forged five checks totaling $800 between February 25 and August 13 of this year at the Ingle's Grocery Store on Winder Highway on the south end of the county. Wilbanks said she faces felony charges, even though the dollar amount of the thefts was not exhorbitant.

"Obviously, since she was already on probation on charges like this last year, this is an ongoing problem, and that's why she's being held without bond," said Wilbanks.

The investigation is ongoing, according to Wilbanks.
