Businessman, former WDUN board member Dunlap dies at 87

GAINESVILLE - Real estate developer Edgar Brown Dunlap died Friday at the age of 87.

Best known as Ed, Dunlap was born in Gainesville and after college returned to his hometown where he was in the insurance business and operated an egg farm and poultry supply company before forming his real estate business, Dunlap and Associates. He and his son David developed 15 subdivisions in Hall County.

Dunlap served as president of the Gainesville Kiwanis Club and as a member the board of directors for the Northeast Georgia History Center at Brenau University.

Dunlap also was one of the ten founding board members of Northeast Georgia Broadcasting Company, the original parent company for WDUN.
