ATLANTA (AP) Hundreds of police officers across Georgia will gather at a service for an Atlanta police officer killed by a motorist last week.

The funeral for Senior Police Officer Gail D. Thomas is set for Monday at 11 a.m. at the Elizabeth Baptist Church in Atlanta.

The 46-year-old was killed Tuesday night when she was struck by a car while helping investigate a wreck on an interstate ramp on the Downtown Connector.

Police have charged 22-year-old Chasity Jones with first-degree homicide by vehicle, driving under the influence and reckless driving. She is being held in the Fulton County Jail without bond until a Feb. 9 hearing.

Visitation for Thomas was held on Sunday and other tributes are planned throughout the week, including a fundraiser on Wednesday to benefit Thomas' 22-year-old daughter Jasmine, a Georgia Southern University student.
