NEWNAN - One of the men injured last week in the explosion of a propane tank at a Dawson County business has died.

Jimmy Lassetter was from Coweta County, according to a report in the Newnan Times-Herald.

Lassetter was critically burned on December 5, as he and other workers were offloading propane tanks at a business on Industrial Parkway near Dawsonville.

At the time, Deputy Chief Tim Satterfield with Dawson County Emergency Services said the tanks were being removed from a tractor trailer when one of the tanks slipped.

"One of the bottom tanks, actually, they knocked it off and when it hit the ground, it ruptured," Satterfield said.

Lasseter and another worker were taken to Grady Hospital for treatment after the incident.
