TOCCOA - Authorities are looking for the man who held up the Regions Bank branch on Doyle Street in Toccoa 11:43 Monday morning.

The suspect is identified as a white male, about 6 feet tall, wearing a blue button up shirt with a white collar, khaki pants, and a dark pullover hat.

Toccoa police said the suspect entered the bank, brandished a handgun and demanded money. He obtained an undetermined amount of cash and left the bank on foot walking toward the downtown Toccoa area.

No one at the bank was hurt during the course of the robbery.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is assisting with the investigation. Officials with the GBI said the suspect was last seen driving a gray or champagne in color late 1980s Chevrolet Caprice Classic or Ford LTD with North Carolina tags.

Three schools in the area were placed on lockdown during the search for the suspect. Those schools were Toccoa Elementary School, Head Start on Whitman Street and First Baptist Church pre-school.
