Hamilton State Bank looks for larger Oakwood location

OAKWOOD - Hamilton State Bank is looking for a larger site for its growing business in South Hall County.

Pending approval from the FDIC, Hamilton State officials said they will move from their current location on Winder Highway to a new location at 3607 Mundy Mill Road. The building in question once housed a Wachovia Bank branch, and Hamilton State officials say there's more room there for additional services, such as safe deposit boxes.

Hamilton State said the move will also allow for additional staff as needed.

There's no timetable for the FDIC to make a decision, and Hamilton State has not said when the branch might relocate should approval be granted.
