DAWSONVILLE - One person is in jail and authorities are looking for more suspects following the discovery of a marijuana grow operation in Dawson County a week ago.

Dawson County Sheriff's Lt. Ray Goodie said investigators found 28 mature marijuana plants, all at least 7-feet tall, at a home off Hensley Way.

"The tenants had set up a grow house in their basement," said Goodie.

Goodie estimated the street value of the pot at $28,000, approximately $1,000 per plant.

While one suspect was arrested at the scene last Thursday, Goodie said others remain at large. He did not specify how many additional suspects the department was seeking, nor did he identify the suspect currently in jail.
