Gainesville teen charged with murder of infant

GAINESVILLE - A teenage mother faces murder charges in connection with the death of her 9-day-old daughter, according to Hall County Sheriff's Office officials.

Investigators arrested Haley Brook Clark, 17, of Gainesville on Monday, August 6 in connection with the death of her infant daughter Olivia Clark.

Investigators said Hall County EMS units and sheriff's deputies responded to the 5200 block of Hopewell Lane on July 18 just after 1:00 p.m. to a report of an infant who had stopped breathing. The infant was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, according to investigators.

Authorities said following an investigation, Clark was arrested without incident and booked into the Hall County Jail, where she is being held without bond on one count of murder.
