Maranatha students, teachers paint 100 bowls for Food Bank

GAINESVILLE - Maranatha Christian Academy, in conjunction with Interactive Neighborhood for Kids (INK), held a paint-your-bowl event Wednesday in advance of the Georgia Mountain Food Bank's annual Empty Bowl Lunch.

MCA Headmaster Rod Bell said the students and teachers had painted about 100 bowls by 3:00 p.m. Monday and there were still some to be finished before the end of the day.

The bowls will be auctioned next Thursday, September 13 at the 6th Annual Empty Bowl Lunch, a fundraiser that supports the Georgia Mountain Food Bank.

The annual lunch will be held at First Baptist Church on Green Streetin Gainesville from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., and tickets may be ordered at 770-967-0075. Tickets are $25.00
