CLEVELAND - The Georgia State Patrol is investigating after a passenger car slammed into the back of a tractor trailer at a White County intersection Tuesday afternoon.

The driver of the passenger car said he dropped his cell phone in the floor of the car and was reaching down to get it as he approached the intersection of Hulsey Road and Highway 75.

Meanwhile, a tractor trailer was apparently pulling onto Highway 75 from Hulsey Road ahead of the passenger car, but the driver of the passenger vehicle failed to stop and ran underneath the rear section of the big rig.

Authorities said the driver of the tractor trailer was able to pull the other driver from the wreckage and no one was injured.
No one was injured when a car ran underneath a tractor trailer north of Cleveland Tuesday.
