House on Lakeview St. destroyed by fire

GAINESVILLE - A pre-dawn fire on Lakeview Street north of Gainesville destroyed a house.

Hall County Fire Chief David Kimbrell said a neighbor called 911 around 4:50 a.m. Tuesday to report the fire.

"Upon arrival, firefighters found about a 1500 square-foot home that was completely involved in fire," said Kimbrell.

He said the home was empty and unoccupied, and it appeared that someone had been doing some work on the house. He placed the value of the house at around $150,000.

Kimbrell said investigators would be on the scene working to determine what started the fire.
