Mecum, Stowe to be sworn in Monday

GAINESVILLE - Hall County Commission Chairman-elect Dick Mecum and District 4 Commissioner-elect Jeff Stowe will be sworn into office during a ceremony at the Hall County Government Center Monday.

U.S. District Court Judge Richard Story administer the oaths of office to the newly-elected officials at 10:00 in the Commission Meeting Room on the second floor of the Hall County Government Center.

Following the ceremony, Mecum and Stowe will get right down to work, attending their first commission meeting - a work session - as members of the board. It is scheduled for 11:00, also in the Commission Meeting Room.

Mecum ousted incumbent Tom Oliver in last year's elections and Stowe defeated incumbent Ashley Bell.
