Hall County Sheriff's Sgt. Mark Mitchell said Brian Ferguson now has been charged in connection with a November 18 incident on Persimmon Tree Road in Lula. Mitchell said deputies responded to an assault call at the home.
"When the uniformed patrol officers arrived, the resident named Ferguson as the person who had threatened him," said Mitchell.
The investigators were familiar with Ferguson because of his arrest in the November 14 armed robbery at the Taco Bell on Browns Bridge Road. (See link to story below.)
In the Lula incident, the resident of the home told deputies that Ferguson accused him of stealing a firearm that Ferguson claimed was his. The resident-whose identity authorities withheld - reported that Ferguson demanded money for the firearm and that Ferguson threatened to shoot the resident's house if he did not comply with his request for money.
Ferguson faces charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm in commission of a crime and terroristic threats in connection with the Lula incident.
Ferguson remains in the Hall County Jail without bond.
