Charter reports six-state outage

GAINESVILLE - Charter Communications was working Friday to correct a massive outage that affected customers in six states.

A company spokesperson said Friday morning that restoring service to Internet, cable and phone customers is a top priority. He gave no estimation for when full service might be restored.

There is no word yet on what caused the outage.

UPDATE: Some service in north Georgia was restored just before 7 a.m.
