LOS ANGELES, Cal. - White County High School's WTVN Warrior TV broadcast team won first place at the Student Television National Convention in Los Angeles Sunday.

Charles Dewalt, Warrior TV instructor said the first prize award is for "Best Overall Broadcasting" school in the nation and it comes with $10,000 in prize money.

"We are extremely proud of the students and what they have accomplished," said Dewalt.

According to Dewalt, several people are planning to meet the students at the airport in Atlanta when the group arrives tonight around 8 p.m.

The convention, held over the weekend, was the largest in Student Television Network's history with more than 2,000 students from across the county competing.

Last year at the national convention in Dallas, Texas, White County took home two first place awards and $10,000 in prize money.
