ATLANTA (AP) Officials in Atlanta say they're stepping up security in the wake of the Boston Marathon bombing.

Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority spokeswoman Cara Hodgson says while there are no credible threats against the transit system, MARTA will increase police presence and will stay in contact with federal, state, and local agencies to stay updated on public transit-related recommendations.

In a statement, Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed said the city was taking additional precautions to enhance safety, but did not elaborate on exactly what those measures were.

In Massachusetts, Boston police say the explosions at the marathon Monday afternoon killed at least three people and injured about 100 others. The back-to-back blasts occurred about two hours after the winners crossed the finish line.
