GAINESVILLE - It was just over a year ago that a Gainesville businessman was shot and killed outside of the Victory Foods poultry plant in Gainesville. Thursday, Hall County sheriff's investigators renewed their request for information from the public in the murder of David Sanchez.

Sanchez owned a check cashing business and had gone to Victory Foods on April 12, 2012 to process checks for workers. He was shot during the course of a robbery and authorities are still looking for three suspects in the case. A female co-worker who accompanied Sanchez was not injured.

Hall County Sheriff's Sgt. Stephen Wilbanks said Sanchez was well-known in Gainesville's Latino community and the community is maintaining a reward fun for information in the case.

"The sheriff's office is not involved in the rewarding of that [money], but it's a reward fund of $10,000 and it will be awarded to persons who provide information to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the crime," said Wilbanks.

Anyone with information in the case is asked to contact the Hall County Sheriff's Office, Criminal Investigations Division at (770)531-6879.

Anonymous tips may be submitted by calling (770)503-3232.
