Hall County authorities said 17-year-old Christopher Eggersdorf had a first court appearance Wednesday. Court officials couldn't immediately be reached for confirmation of bond, but Eggersdorf didn't appear on the latest Hall County Jail inmate list.
He is charged in a September 30, 2012 accident that killed 50-year-old Lora Thompson and 3-year-old Anna Grace Jones. Another child in the vehicle was injured.
The crash occurred around 7:45 p.m. that Sunday night on Ransom Free Road at Clermont Highway.
In addition to murder charges, Eggersdorf also faces a list of other charges including two counts of homicide by vehicle in the first degree, aggravated assault, serious injury by vehicle, reckless driving, criminal damage to property in the first degree, driving with no proof of insurance and a headlight violation.
