All of the Gainesville water customers are located at the end of Trudy Drive and each home in question received a hand-delivered notification of the boil water advisory, according to Gainesville City officials. The water in that area is provided by the city of Gainesville. No other Gainesville City water customers are affected by the advisory.
Water samples will be examined for 24 hours with hopes of issuing an all clear by for those Gainesville water customers at some point Tuesday morning.
All water customers who receive water from the city of Flowery Branch remain under a boil water advisory for the remainder of the day Monday. The city says all water for consumption (cooking, dish washing, drinking, brushing of teeth) should be boiled for three minutes before using. The city also advises discarding any stored water or drinks and ice made recently from the water be discarded.
