Sautee-Nacoochee firefighters prepare for annual BBQ

SAUTEE-NACOOCHEE - Saturday, May 25, marks the 24th anniversary for the Sautee-Nacoochee Volunteer Firefighters Annual "Pig Out Barbeque." The event will be held from noon to 5 p.m. at the Sautee-Nacoochee Community Center on Highway 255.

Proceeds from previous events have been used to purchase life-saving equipment, such as a state-of-art automated electronic defibrillator, a thermal imaging camera that allows firefighters to scan a structure to check for persons who may be trapped inside ,a fully-articulated dummy used in training exercises, an air bag lifting system and a computer software program that helps locate lost individuals.

Proceeds from this year's event will go to purchase technical equipment to help during search and rescue operations.

Tickets prices for adults are $10 and for children under age 12, $5.
