JONESBORO, Ga. (AP) Authorities hope to talk with former NBA star Mookie Blaylock as soon as Monday about a fatal wreck in which he was involved.

Jonesboro Police Chief Franklin Allen says those discussions are the first step in determining what happened and whether Blaylock will face additional charges.

Allen says Blaylock already is charged with driving on a suspended license and failing to stay in his lane following the Friday wreck in Jonesboro. Allen said police also will consult with prosecutors about the possibility of more charges.

Police say the former Atlanta Hawks player was driving an SUV that collided head-on with a van after crossing the center line. The crash killed a Gwinnett County woman.

Atlanta Medical Center spokeswoman Nicole Gustin said Blaylock was in fair condition Monday morning.

Blaylock played in the NBA for 13 seasons.
