GAINESVILLE - Authorities said Wednesday afternoon Leslie Legg, 31, of Gainesville was the man killed when he pulled into the path of a dump truck on Highway 60 in south Hall County.

According to Trooper First Class A.J. Allen, Legg was driving a 2011 Ford Fusion on Highway 211 and pulled out onto Highway 60 in front of the dump truck, which was loaded with asphalt.

"The dump truck was unable to stop, hit the Fusion in the driver's door - they traveled off the roadway and the dump truck turned over on its side, spilling its load of asphalt onto the highway," said Allen.

Allen said Legg was the only person in the Fusion. The dump truck driver, Mickey Braswell, age 36, of Statham, was not hurt, according to Allen.

Highway 60 was closed for more than four hours as crews cleared asphalt from the road.

Allen said no charges are expected to be filed.
