According to Hall County School Superintendent Will Schofield, the newly-approved budget allots for 186 total teacher contract days, with 176 of those days being spent in the classroom with students.
The 10 remaining days are allocated as personal learning days that teachers can use to prepare their lesson plans.
Schofield said the board also heard a plan for the revision of the school system's current leave policy, with the plan calling for up to 10 days of adoptions leave. 6 of these days would be potential accumulated sick days, while the remaining 4 are earmarked as personal days.
A new millage was also unanimously approved by the board. The new rate of 19.25 is an increase from the previous rate of 18.94.
