SANDY SPRINGS - Sandy Springs police have released a photo of the vehicle they believe to be involved in a hit-and-run crash that critically injured a Buford man Sunday morning.

In a press release, Sandy Spring Police Capt. Steve Rose said the vehicle was photographed leaving the Mosaic Apartments at 5675 Roswell Road just prior to the collision on Roswell Road at I-285. In the photo, a passenger is in the front seat of the white Jeep Grand Cherokee. Rose said police believe the driver of the Cherokee dropped off another person at the Mosaic Apartments prior to this photo. It is estimated the car was at the apartments for only a few minutes before leaving through the gated entrance seen in the photo.

Police said Sunday a motorcycle operated by 22-year old Alejandro Palombini of Buford was traveling south on Roswell Road when it was hit by a white Jeep Grand Cherokee.

The vehicle is missing the grill and entire front bumper assembly, according to police.

Palombini was taken to Atlanta Medical Center and remained in critical condition Monday.

Anyone with information on the vehicle is asked to call Sandy Springs police at 770-551-6900.
