WLA Associate Principal Carrie Woodcock announced Monday that the school was awarded the Educational Seminars Exchange Grant for Administrators.
"These administrators will come to visit Hall County in October of this year and then the reciprocal trip will be at the end of next summer," said Woodcock. She said WLA Principal Dave Moody will take that trip.
Three administrators from Brazil are expected to make the trip to north Georgia.
"They're real excited about the opportunity of learning how we go about teaching language to our children, or teaching our children in other languages so that they acquire multiple languages," said Woodcock.
The exchange is perhaps even more significant given that WLA recently began offering Portuguese as yet another language at the school, and Portuguese is the
official language of Brazil.
Woodcocks said the educational administrators will also have a chance to participate in community and cultural activities outside of the classroom.
According to the Hall County School District office, the grant is sponsored by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, U. S. Department of State, The National Council of State Secretaries of Education
