SUWANEE - A crash between a PT Cruiser and a tractor trailer in Suwanee Wednesday night left two people dead, according to Gwinnett County police.

Sgt. Brian Doan said the accident happened at the intersection of Satellite Boulevard and Shawnee Industrial Boulevard.

"A bobtail tractor trailer was northbound on Satellite Boulevard and a PT Cruiser was westbound on Shawnee Industrial Way, and the PT Cruiser...either went to cross the intersection or turn left going southbound on Satellite boulevard when the tractor trailer struck the PT Cruiser," said Doan.

He said the driver, 20-year-old Ethan Ashline, and a front-seat passenger, 25-year-old Adrianna Romero, were pronounced dead at the scene. A male passenger in the back of the PT Cruiser, identified as 31-year-old Justin Kyall, was taken to the hospital with critical injuries.

The accident occurred just before 11 p.m. and the scene wasn't cleared until around 4 a.m. Thursday.

"The truck went off into the woods and developed a fuel leak," said Doan. "It had about 400 gallons of diesel fuel on board the bobtail truck. It was about 30-feet down an embankment in the wood line, so it took quite some time to get the truck up out of the woods."

The truck driver, Eddie Scott, 50, was not seriously injured and did not require medical attention, according to authorities.
