The new Raiders head coach led his team to a second straight 31-0 victory on Friday, North Forsyth handling Dawson County in Coal Mountain.
The Raiders (2-0) did it with defense and an imposing rushing attack, holding Dawson County (2-1) to just 133 yards -- much of that coming in the fourth quarter -- while rolling up 227 yards on the ground.
Jamal Davenport led all 10 North Forsyth ball carriers, rushing 15 times for 70 yards and two touchdowns -- both in the second quarter as the Raiders built a 21-0 halftime lead.
Trey Wagner also had a two-yard scoring run for North Forsyth in the second quarter, while Zach Slaton added a 1-yard touchdown plunge in the fourth quarter. Joseph Bailey also converted a 25-yard field goal for the Raiders and was a perfect 4-for-4 on point after touchdown kicks.
Peyton Runyon also nabbed two interceptions for North Forsyth, who will look to move 3-0 next week at Cherokee.
Dawson County, meanwhile, will look to bounce back at home against Forsyth Central next Friday.
