Kimbrell said the homeowner was awakened by a smoke detector.
"Upon their investigation, they found fire coming from the garage getting into the house," said Kimbrell.
Kimbrell said when firefighters arrived just after 10:45, the house was fully involved in flames.
Both occupants of the home escaped without injury. The American Red Cross was called to assist the homeowners, according to Kimbrell.
At this point, a cause has not been determined.
