Fannin County knocks off Banks County in incredible finish

BLUE RIDGE -- Fannin County showed not only that it knows how to win but win in dramatic fashion on Friday.<br /> <br /> The Rebels blocked a Banks County punt with less than a minute to play and scored the winning touchdown with just :07.5 remaining for a 30-23 victory over Banks County in Blue Ridge.<br /> <br /> Dakota Queen came up with the block, while quarterback Brad Davis and Tyler Beaver hooked up on a screen pass to notch the winning TD.<br /> <br /> "This was one of those games where the kids learned a lot; they learned how to fight and keep fighting," first year Fannin County coach Jim Pavao said. "This gives us some confidence."<br /> <br /> Fannin County (3-2, 1-0 Region 7-AAAA) fell behind 6-0 on a Leopards interception for a touchdown and then trailed 16-9 at the half.<br /> <br /> The Rebels will take on Lumpkin County in a huge 7-AAA showdown next week.
