Small plane crashes on Georgia high school field

FAYETTEVILLE, Ga. (AP) Federal authorities are investigating a small plane crash in Fayette County. <br /> <br /> Federal Aviation Administration officials say a single-engine plane crashed on the athletic field at Starrs Mill High School in Fayetteville Sunday afternoon. Fayetteville is about 20 miles south of downtown Atlanta. <br /> <br /> Authorities say the plane departed the DeKalb-Peachtree Airport and was headed for the Harris County Airport in Pine Mountain. <br /> <br /> FAA officials say the plane was carrying two people. County Emergency Management Agency Director Pete Nelms tells WSB-TV that minor injuries have been reported. <br /> <br /> The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the crash.
