ATLANTA (AP) -- The candidates for Georgia governor are taking their closing arguments to the airwaves.

The ad for Democrat Jason Carter covers a range of topics, including education funding and the economy. It doesn't specifically mention incumbent Gov. Nathan Deal.

Shots of Carter meeting voters during a statewide bus tour play as he says the state is "ready for a new direction" and promises the state will lead the way under his leadership.

Deal says in his ad that he made "hard decisions" deserving a second term, including changes to the HOPE scholarship.

Deal also touts his administration's work on criminal justice reform and resistance to tax increases. Deal says Carter is making false attacks and had no accomplishments in the state Senate.

Libertarian Andrew Hunt also is on the Nov. 4 ballot.
