ATLANTA (AP) The candidates for Georgia governor have been on the campaign trial since early Monday morning for a final day before Tuesday's election, encouraging supporters and trying to convince undecided voters in the close race.

Republican Gov. Nathan Deal started the day with a press conference at the Capitol in Atlanta, where he announced the state had been ranked tops in the country to do business for the second year by a trade publication. Deal is flying around the state with other GOP candidates.

Deal will wrap up his day at home in Hall County. The governor is scheduled to land at Lee Gilmer Memorial Airport at 7 p.m. as his final campaign stop before the Tuesday election.

Democrat Jason Carter says the timing is all politics, and a magazine ranking doesn't match the experience of Georgia families. He has hammered Deal on the state's unemployment rate being ranked highest according to federal statistics.

Carter plans to spend the day in metro Atlanta, including stops with civil rights icon John Lewis.
