GAINESVILLE - A fatal motorcycle crash last month on Pea Ridge Road in Hall County at first appeared to be an accident, but now authorities have filed charges in the wreck.

Cpl. Austin Allen with Georgia State Patrol said Wednesday that 64-year-old Ruby Marshall was arrested and charged in the wreck that killed Jerald Freeman.

Allen said the initial investigation indicated the 47-year-old Freeman had lost control of his motorcycle and veered off the roadway on Tuesday, October 7. Freeman's brother discovered the wreckage the next day.

Allen said further investigation led troopers to Marshall.

Right now, Marshall faces charges of first degree vehicular homicide, which is a felony.
