Mill Creek cruises past Peachtree Ridge to finish No. 2 in 7-AAAAAA

SUWANEE -- Does anyone want to play Mill Creek right now?<br /> <br /> It would seem the Hawks are perhaps one of the toughest propositions in the Class AAAAAA bracket and are peaking at the right time.<br /> <br /> Mill Creek pulled away from Peachtree Ridge 34-7 on Friday in Suwanee to secure the No. 2 playoff seed from Region 7-AAAAAA.<br /> <br /> The Hawks (7-3, 6-1 Region 7-AAAAAA) will play host to Grayson in the first round of the Class AAAAAA playoffs in Hoschton.<br /> <br /> Both teams are known for their rushing attack -- and the Hawks showed theirs on Friday, rolling up 320 yards on the ground to pull away from a 7-0 first quarter deficit from the Lions.<br /> <br /> Quarterback Daniel David rushed for 121 yards and two scores, while Johnathan Hawkins put up 116 yards and three touchdowns -- two in the second quarter -- as Mill Creek pulled away for the win.<br /> <br /> Mill Creek's defense also performed well, allowing just 205 yards to the Lions.
