Davis resigns from Apalachee football

BETHLEHEM -- Apalachee football has been around for 15 seasons, and Shane Davis has coached the Wildcats in 10 of them -- but no longer.<br /> <br /> Davis recently resigned following a 1-9 campaign, 1-8 in Region 8-AAAAA. <br /> <br /> The Wildcats enjoyed their highest success so far under Davis, who led Apalachee to the 2009 Region 8-AAAA title and a Class AAAA quarterfinal appearance. The 12-1 season capped a four-year run of state playoff appearances.<br /> <br /> Davis was 48-59 overall at Apalachee, including six winning seasons.
