FLOWERY BRANCH - Growlers on Main in Flowery Branch will be allowed to re-open Monday, just one week after city officials suspended the license of the craft beer store.

Originally, city officials had ordered the license suspended until the end of the year after citizens complained about violations of the Flowery Branch alcohol ordinance.

"Via social media, they were posting something referred to as 'The Gauntlet'," said Flowery Branch Mayor Mike Miller. "They were allowing people to take a challenge to try and drink eight-ounce glasses from all 26 taps within one hour."

During the public hearing, city council members voted unanimously to reinstate the license as of Monday, November 17th. Miller said the owner of Growlers agreed to meet with city staff to ensure he is operating within the law.

Miller said the business would not be fined, since the loss of revenue for the one-week period was deemed to be suitable punishment.
