BALDWIN - City of Baldwin residents who live in Banks County off Highway 105 and Old Highway 441 are being cautioned to boil any water to be used for human consumption.

A water main break in the area Thursday afternoon prompted city officials to issue the advisory.

All citizens who are on the City of Baldwin Water System and live in Banks County off of Highway 105 or Old Highway 441 that have experienced water outages and/or low water pressures are advised to "boil" all water prior to use for drinking, cooking, or preparing baby food. The water should be boiled for at least one minute after reaching a rolling boil.

Citizens should continue to boil their water until they are notified by the City of Baldwin Water Department that the water system has been restored to full operation, and that the microbiological quality of the water in the distribution system is safe for human consumption.

The City of Baldwin Water Department said it will post a notice when the advisory is lifted.
