GAINESVILLE - Greg Cochran is at it again - displaying his strength for a good cause!

Cochran, who has more than 23 years of experience in the fitness industry, has returned to a career in law enforcement with the Hall County Sheriff's Office, and this Saturday, he plans to break a world record to benefit the Georgia Sheriffs' Youth Homes. Cochran set a record in 2010 for flipping a 555-lb. tire, and he plans to break the record of 203 "flips" on Saturday, December 13 in Gainesville.

The "Flippin' for the Children of the Georgia Sheriffs' Youth Homes" event will take place at 10 a.m. in the Lowe's Home Improvement Warehouse parking lot at the corner of Shallowford Road and Skelton Road.

Cochran, whose previous world record attempts have benefited a number of non-profit organizations, has set three world records in strength and endurance.

The Georgia Sheriffs' Youth Homes - established in the late 1950s - currently serve 80 children in the state who have been abandoned, neglected or abused. Some of those children are from Hall County, according to the Hall County Sheriff's Office. The HCSO said there are five homes in Georgia serving these children.

As part of Saturday's fundraising event, Texas Roadhouse will set up shop at the event site, selling their "Fall off the Bones" rib plates for $14 each, with proceeds from the sales going to the Georgia Sheriffs' Youth Homes.

Also, the Hall County Sheriff's Office will be drawing for winners of their three "Christmas Stocking Stuffer Baskets" - filled with prizes, including gym fitness memberships & free personal trainer access, Reebok gift certificates, Christmas trees, beauty products, certificates for meals from our local restaurants,
goodies from our local bakeries and much more!

Community Service Unit of the Hall County Sheriff's Office for details on the stocking stuffer baskets at (770)531-6900.
