The student, a junior cadet from China, was with another student when the two were hit by the vehicle on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard at Rogers Bridge Road. Duluth police said the accident occurred at 9:50 p.m. Friday. Police said a report with details of the accident would not be available for several days.
Lt. Col. Kevin Jarrard said the school was planning a memorial service, among other things, for the students.
"We refer to the boys as brothers in blue, and that's how they view each other; we view them as our sons, so it's likened to one of our sons perishing," Jarrard said on WDUN's Afternoon News Wrap.
A memorial service has been scheduled on the campus of RMA Friday.
"It'll be a somber ceremony, one that will give us an opportunity to express our grief and sorrow, and then we will have the appropriate military funereal type of ceremonies to help the boys work through this process, and coupled with that you've got all the traditional grief counseling."
The name of the student is being withheld publicly at this time.
