UNDATED - The Georgia Department of Natural Resources made 32 boating under the influence arrests over the Memorial Day weekend, and they said the bulk of those citations were issued to boat operators on Lake Lanier.

"You know, this is maybe not the badge of honor that we want for Lanier, but they did have the most for the three-day weekend across the whole state by a good margin," said Melissa Cummings, spokeswoman for DNR.

Cummings said 10 BUI citations were issued to Lanier boat operators.

In comparison, only one BUI was issued on Lake Allatoona in northwest Georgia, another of Georgia's larger, more popular lakes.

Last year, rangers issued 42 BUIs during the Memorial Day weekend, so the overall numbers did decrease in 2014.
