Former animal shelter director sentenced to 25 years in prison

CLAYTON - A Rabun County woman convicted on 60 felony counts involving theft of funds from the Boggs Mountain Animal Shelter has been sentenced.<br /> <br /> Lowanda "Peanut" Kilby was sentenced Friday to 25 years in prison, with 15 to serve, according to Fox 5. <br /> <br /> Kilby was convicted of euthanizing animals at the no-kill animal shelter and stealing more then $10,000 in donor money that was supposed to be used for the upkeep of the animals at the shelter.<br /> <br /> She was also handed a $30,000 dollar fine.<br />
