Gainesville School Board selects Roach as Enota principal

GAINESVILLE - Enota Multiple Intelligences Academy in Gainesville has a new principal, following action by the Gainesville School Board Monday night.<br /> <br /> Wesley Armstrong Roach comes to Gainesville from Excel Christian Academy in Cartersville. Roach also recently served as the principal of Calhoun Elementary School in Calhoun.<br /> <br /> Incoming Superintendent Wanda Creel made the announcement of Roach's hiring after Monday's work session. Roach moves into the principal's office at Enota, following the resignation of Matt Maynor; Maynor is returning to his home town.<br /> <br /> Creel said there were 18 applicants for the position and board members, along with member of Enota's School Governance Council, interviewed four candidates.<br /> <br /> Creel noted that Roach, an educator with 20 years of experience, will be familiar with a charter system like the Gainesville system, since the Calhoun City Schools also have charter system status.<br /> <br /> Roach is a graduate of Kennesaw State University. He also has degrees from Covenant College and Lincoln Memorial University, according to his resume.<br />
