SMYRNA, Ga. (AP) A man and a boy were hospitalized after a scare in the Chattahoochee River.

Rescue crews were called to the river around 7:30 p.m. Sunday to search for the two. They had gone in the river near the Atlanta Road Bridge in Cobb County, just northwest of Atlanta, to swim and tube.

WSB-TV reports that a swift water rescue team pulled the man from the river and performed CPR. He was taken to Emory Adventist Hospital in Smyrna.

Rescuers located the boy downriver with another group of people.

Authorities said he was taken to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Scottish Rite as a precaution because he had ingested a lot of river water.
