GAINESVILLE - Vince and Barbara Dooley are spending the evening with supporters of the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia at HSNEGA's Cruising for a Cause fundraiser on August 2.

The event is scheduled for 5 to 8 p.m. aboard a luxury houseboat, and a limited number of guests will spend the evening touring Lake Lanier with the Dooleys.

Cruising for a Cause supports the SNIP Fund, a program offering financial assistance with spay/neuter surgeries through the HSNEGA's Spay/Neuter Center. Guests will enjoy an unforgettable evening of good food, great music, silent auction items, and fabulous door prizes.

"As part of our efforts to reduce the homeless pet population, HSNEGA teamed with Nuvo Visage, a Hall County-based company, to start the SNIP Fund in 2012," said Julie Edwards, HSNEGA's Acting Executive Director.

"The program works to ensure that low-income/underserved pet owners can spay or neuter their cats and dogs for free, or at a greatly reduced cost."

To date, the SNIP Fund has helped more than 220 pets have spay/neuter surgery.

Tickets for Cruising for a Cause 2014 are $125 each and the event is strictly limited to 50 attendees. Tickets are available on a first-come basis for purchase on HSNEGA's Website at www.HSNEGA.org. Guests must be 21 years old in order to attend Cruising for a Cause.
