Head-on crash in Lumpkin Co. injures four

DAHLONEGA - The Georgia State Patrol continues an investigation into a head-on collision on Longbranch Road that injured four people Thursday night.<br />

Investigating troopers said the crash happened around 8 p.m. in the 2800 block of the roadway, which is on a stretch of road south of Azalea Ridge. The accident involved a Buick LeSabre and a Volkswagen Jetta.<br />
<br />
The 20-year-old male driver of the Jetta was taken by air ambulance to Atlanta Medical Center with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries, according to GSP. The 75-year-old male driver of the LeSabre was taken by ground ambulance to Northeast Georgia Medical Center. In addition, two passengers in the Jetta were taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for treatment.<br />
<br />
Longbranch Road was closed for almost three hours as a result of the accident.<br />
<br />
State troopers said they expect to release more details on the crash Friday.
