LAWRENCEVILLE - Two teenage boys are being sought by Gwinnett County authorities in connection with a Lawrenceville house fire that investigators believe to be a case of arson.

According to the county's Public Information Officer, Captain Tommy Rutledge, shortly before 7 p.m. Saturday night, firefighters were called to the 1900-block of Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road, where upon arrival they discovered an abandoned home that was completely engulfed in flames.

Rutledge said witnesses reported seeing two teenagers, both males around 15 years old, walking away from the home as it was consumed by flames. Due to the nature of the fire, and the fact that the home was not connected to any utilities at the time, investigators determined the incident to be a case of arson, and subsequently began seeking the two teens in order to establish any potential connection to the fire.

The teens are said to be roughly 5' 9" with brown hair. Rutledge noted that one boy was wearing a green shirt and blue jeans while the other wore blue jeans with no shirt. The pair was last seen walking in the direction of Covenant Life Church, which is located across the street from the site of the fire.

Anyone with relevant information in the case is asked to contact the Gwinnett Fire Investigations Section at 678-518-4890 or the Georgia Arson Control Hot Line, which offers a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for arson at 1-800-282-5804.

Rutledge added that the home, which has been empty for some time, was deemed a total loss as firefighters were unable to enter the home due to the intense flames and unsafe building conditions.
