UGA student accused of threat denied bond

ATHENS - A student accused of posting a threat on social media that prompted the evacuation of a building at the University of Georgia Friday will remain in jail for now.<br /> <br /> Ariel Omar Arias was denied bond at his first court appearance Monday, according to a report in the Atlanta Journal Constitution.<br /> <br /> The 19-year-old from Lilburn apparently had threatened some type of violence against the Miller Learning Center, prompting the evacuation of the building and closure of surrounding streets.<br /> <br /> The building remained closed for about an hour Friday afternoon.<br /> <br /> Arias told authorities the threat was a prank, but he was charged with two felony counts of terroristic threats. <br /> <br /> He has been in jail since Friday. The newspaper report said that a special bond hearing has been scheduled for Arias Tuesday at 1 p.m.<br /> <br /> Arias also has been suspended from the university.<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
