State prison inmate killed in Buford

BUFORD - The GBI said Thursday it is working with the Gwinnett County District Attorney's office on indictments for Allah Jamal Ware, a suspect in the death of a fellow inmate at Phillips State Prison in Buford.<br /> <br /> GBI spokeswoman Sherry Lang said via email Ware is implicated in the murder of Antonio Maurice Turner, 27, of Canton, who was found dead Sunday night. Turner had been stabbed.<br /> <br /> The victim was serving a 10-year sentence at the prison for aggravated assault, criminal damage 2nd degree, obstruction of a law enforcement officer and robbery by force, according to Lang.<br /> <br /> The 32-year-old suspect, who is from Lafayette, was jailed for aggravated assault, armed robbery and obstruction of a law enforcement officer.<br /> <br /> Lang did not give any other details about the incident.
